Samsung has released the second beta of One UI 8.5, and it brings back camera features that were missing in the first beta build — addressing feedback from Galaxy users and photography enthusiasts. The restored features, plus a solid rollout plan and broad device inclusion, make this a key milestone ahead of the stable release in early 2026.
Camera Features Return in One UI 8.5 Beta 2
Many Galaxy owners noticed that two popular camera modes — Single Take and Dual Rec — were missing from the first One UI 8.5 beta. These tools let users capture multiple types of images and clips with one capture or record simultaneously with two cameras.
With the second One UI 8.5 beta, Samsung has restored these features — but not in the usual location. They’re now available through the Camera Assistant app under “Additional modes,” rather than being built into the default Camera app interface.
Single Take captures several photos and short video clips in different styles with one sweep.
Dual Rec records video from two cameras at the same time, ideal for creative video content.
This change may make these features slightly harder to find, but it keeps them available for users who rely on them.
One UI 8.5 Release Timeline
One UI 8.5 is expected to become the next major Samsung software version, and the beta program is rolling out in stages:
First beta began December 8, 2025, for select devices in regions like the US, UK, South Korea, and more.
Second beta arrived around December 22-23, 2025, restoring camera modes and improving stability.
The stable public launch is anticipated in early 2026, likely timed around the Galaxy S26 series debut.
Samsung could release several beta builds before moving to the full release, giving early adopters a chance to test and provide feedback.
