In anticipation of the PS5 Pro's launch later this week, additional official specifications for the most advanced version of the PS5 have been confirmed. Digital Foundry has disclosed information from the manual accompanying its PS5 Pro review unit, which verifies that the console is equipped with an AMD Ryzen Zen 2 8-core/16-thread processor and an RDNA-based graphics engine capable of delivering 16.7 teraflops (TF) of GPU compute performance, surpassing the base PS5's 10.23 TF.
As previously mentioned in March, early leaked documents indicated a significantly higher performance figure for the PS5 Pro, primarily due to modifications in AMD's RDNA architecture.
The manual further indicates that the PS5 Pro will feature 16GB of GDDR6 memory, alongside 2GB of slower DDR5 memory designated for non-gaming console tasks, in addition to a 2TB custom SSD. Its maximum power consumption will reach 390 watts, exceeding the 340 watts utilized by both the slim and standard versions of the PS5 Digital Edition; however, the console will not consistently draw this maximum power.
In a recent post on the official PlayStation blog, Sony announced a compilation of 55 games that will receive enhancements for the PS5 Pro upon the console's release at a price of $699.99 on November 7th. This list includes several titles previously confirmed for updates, as well as new additions such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Star Wars: Outlaws.
