Srinivasan Venkatachary, Vice President of Search Quality at Google, stated, "Individuals located in any country where AI Overviews are available can now access them in a variety of supported languages, which include English, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish." Venkatachary emphasized that this represents the most significant expansion of AI Overviews, as Google is broadening their availability in multiple languages.
AI Overviews in Search, featuring support for Hindi, are set to be launched this week. Moneycontrol has verified the presence of Hindi support in AI Overviews; however, it is currently not visible. Given that this is a phased rollout, it may require some time before it becomes accessible to all users.
AI Overviews utilize generative AI to analyze patterns and structures within the training data, enabling the creation of novel content. Google cautions that, despite its potential, this technology is in a state of rapid evolution and enhancement, which may result in the dissemination of inaccurate or inappropriate information. Consequently, AI Overviews are capable of making errors.
Google further states that AI Overviews can introduce innovative search methodologies that were previously unattainable. "Now, a greater number of individuals worldwide can leverage Search to pose new types of inquiries, access the information they require more swiftly, and discover the finest resources available on the web," Google articulated in a blog post.
