Amazon has disrupted Apple's week of Mac announcements by prematurely revealing information about the new Mac Mini. Although the listing has since been removed, MacRumors was able to capture several screenshots beforehand.

A small image of the new silver Mac Mini reveals what seems to be a headphone jack along with two front-facing USB-C ports, likely featuring at least Thunderbolt 4 compatibility. It is offered in both a base and a Pro version, equipped with the new M4 chipset, which can support up to 14 CPU cores, 20 GPU cores, 64GB of RAM, and 8TB of storage. The specifications of the rear ports remain undisclosed at this time.

The M4 is expected to represent a substantial advancement over the M2 chip currently utilized in Mac Minis, which were last updated in January 2023. This increase in processing power is anticipated to enhance both current and forthcoming Apple Intelligence capabilities, with performance metrics projected to rise from 15.8 TOPS to 38 TOPS, as reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Gurman further observes that the newly introduced smaller Mini is comparable in size to an Apple TV streaming device. When placed alongside the Mac Studio, its diminutive dimensions are evident, suggesting that it will be an attractive option in terms of both size and performance.
